The Newsletter - Issue 19

Rieko and I have just returned from a great trip to Singapore. Between meeting other marketers and enjoying local delicacies, it was a fantastic time. Check out the story and photos on the blog:

Last week, I promised you I'd discuss branding. That turned out to be a timely topic. See, when I arrived at the World Internet Summit, most Internet marketers knew who I was -- even though I have never attended an offline IM activity.

That's the power of branding yourself.

BRANDING YOURSELF

On the Internet, you are merely an unknown -- sitting behind a keyboard and tapping messages into the void of cyperspace. To help people feel comfortable dealing with you, you need to step out from behind that PC and let them have a good look at you.

This starts with a series of actions -- all very easy to implement.

1. USE YOUR REAL NAME

On the forums, skip the funny or cryptic user names, and use your real name. After all, it's much easier to relate to Danny McKay of Lower Dunbarton -- than it is to do so with CyberX21.

And, don't just lurk on the forums. Get involved! Post good information, help others, discuss things. Let other members get to know you.

2. FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE

Along with your real name, add some info about you in your forum profile. Let others know some more about you -- your hobbies, your favourite books, your background, your views.

When forum members click on your profile, they can get a better feel for you as a person -- someone they can easily communicate with.

3. HAVE A BLOG

A blog is a great place to communicate with your customers and customers-to-be. It's also a great place to personalize yourself. It's a place to let people get a peek into your life.

Show photos from your weekend, share your funny stories. You can weave business and personal on your blog, especially if your business is based around a hobby or sport of yours.

4. SHOW YOUR FACE

Put your photo on all your sites. This can be a portrait, or a photo showing you doing something related to your market. Place a small caption under the photo, and explain what's happening or what it represents.

5. GIVE YOUR MESSAGE

In all your books and reports, create a Message From The Author. This is where you can give a quick bio and establish your expertise. It's also where you again brand yourself -- with your photo and more information about you.

YOU INC.

In most infopreneur businesses, you are the business. It's You Inc., and you need to let the market see who "You" is.

TO CREATE OR NOT TO CREATE

That is the question!

The reason I write the Product Creation Labs newsletter is to help you create your own profitable info products. Because, I strongly believe that the way to have true success online is by having your own product.

However, sometimes it takes a while to get through all the trials of researching the market, creating products, writing a series of e-mails, putting together a killer sales letter, etc. etc.

There are two ways to get ready-to-sell info products, so you can make money while you're building your own product line:

1. Last week, I introduced my first Instant Money Factory -- a whole business system, with your pre-written reports, compelling sales letters, and follow-up e-mails -- all set to go!

To start making money from Day 1, go to:

[Note: These popular Factories are limited in number, so they are not always available. You may have to wait until the next version is created]

2. There's also a great membership being offered by Vince Tan. I finally met Vince face-to-face in Singapore, and he's one nice guy. He's also put together a very nice deal for you, that sets you up with all kinds of pre-written goods to get you making money right away. Go take a closer look at his deal:

To create or not to create? Of course, you should also create -- but look to one of these solutions to get you in business quickly.

NEXT WEEK

I'd like to discuss some methods for conducting successful interviews. Until then, have a great weekend and -- if you haven't already -- start branding yourself,

Mission Leader

I subscribe to a lot of IM newsletters, from the big name gurus, to the little gurus, to the wanna be gurus…and there are few that I actually read.

I do actually open and read Kevin Riley's Product Creation Labs newsletter, because he provides honest reviews of products, provides great marketing tips, and recommends quality products.  There is a lot of noise out there in the IM world, and Kevin provides me and my internet business with something different - honesty and clear direction for building an online business.

Thanks Kevin for the courage to be different by simply providing what most of us are looking for online - integrity.

Here's what I like about PCL newsletters - I always get something of value in them. So, I am careful not to EVER delete one without reading it (something that I cannot say for alot of the stuff my inbox gets inundated with). Besides, you never bore me, Kevin.
