Product Creation Labs

The Newsletter - Issue 15

It's Golden Week in Japan, and today the weather is truly golden. Families are out walking everywhere -- enjoying some fine weather before the heat and humidity hit.

OK, got a bunch of stuff to cover this week, so I'll jump right into it. There's a question from Raja, a suggestion from Richard, a solution to the fear of installing "$7 Secrets" scripts, and this week's feature on back-end products.

RAJA'S DILEMMA

A few days ago, Raja sent me a good question. I want to share it, and my answer, with you (It may be helpful):

"I am in ground zero right now, no money (in terms of earning), no list but have a great report written right now using the product creation recipe of urs. I don't have a list at all right now. But I was hoping to build a list using the 7$ secrets method. Am I being too 'perfectionist' trying to build a list solely on the 7$ secrets method? Should I write other reports in other sub markets and give them away for free to use as a hook?"

My answer:

"In my opinion, using a $7 report to build your list is the best way. That way, you get good, qualified people on your mailing list -- the kind who will spend money with you, and buy more reports, e-books, etc.

With free reports, you get a lot of freebie seekers who will never spend any money with you.

I'm not saying that free reports are totally useless, however I give more of my attention to my $7 reports. I'm just now releasing my first free report -- only because James Brown invited me to put something in his Golden Week Giveaway. However, I'm putting those people on a separate mailing list. They're not ready to be on the Product Creation Labs newsletter list -- they'll only graduate to it if they buy something."

ARCHIVING MY E-MAIL SERIES

I've had a couple of requests to put my 21 Writing Tips on a PDF file or website, so you could easily refer to them. This week, Richard also asked me to do this. I will try to get to this soon -- hopefully in the next week or two.

I've got a huge project in the Product Creation Labs right now, so please be patient. I'll send out a notice when I get the archive set up.

[Note: This has since been done, and all 21 Tips are now delivered on a PDF file. This is only available to subscribers (You can subscribe below).]

NO MORE FEAR OF $7 SECRETS

If the fear of totally screwing up -- and losing a ton of sales -- when you install "$7 Secrets" has been holding you back, you'll be happy to hear this. I've created an illustrated, step-by-step guide to hold your hand through the process and show you the way.

Created by me, for me (because I hate to screw up), and now I'm sharing it with you -- "All-Thumbs Guide To Installing $7 Secrets":

YOU NEED A BACK-END

If you've been reading "Recipe For Success With $7 Secrets" (http://recipefor7dollarsuccess.com), you know that a major ingredient for success is your back-end.

FRONT-END/BACK-END?

Front-end (n): Those products you sell for a low price (like $7 reports) to bring customers into your mailing list -- and your sales funnel.

Back-end (n): Those products you sell to customers after they've entered your sales funnel. Most of these are higher-priced items.

YOUR FRONT-END

A simple report -- the kind you made with "Recipe For Quick And Easy Product Creation" -- makes a great front-end. The price is low, so there's little barrier to buying.

Focus your report on one problem, technique, etc. and it's an easy decision to pick it up. It also satisfies your customer in a short time, and they'll be ready to buy more -- back-end.

HOW MUCH INFO?

You don't need to go overboard -- just enough to teach one main subject. I got carried away with "Recipe For Delivering Your Own Popular Newsletter" (http://recipefornewsletter.com). I could have simply wrapped up the section on setting up an autoresponder and loading an e-mail follow-up series. That alone would be a report worth a lot more than $7 to anyone starting in IM.

A DIFFERENT NICHE

Let's look at an example -- say, young guys who want to put on some muscle.

It's easy to put together a number of exercise guides for your front-end. Each guide need only target one item -- "Three Easy Exercises For Washboard Abs", "How To Superset Your Way Out Of A Weight-Gain Slump" (Yes, bodybuilders are into gaining, not losing, weight), "A Super Routine For Massive Pipes" (If you're not into bodybuilding, this doesn't refer to plumbing, but big arms.)

THEN, BUILD UP THE BACK-END

Now, your young wannabe Schwarzenegger has pored over one of your reports ... schlepped down to the gym ... given your routine a good try ... feels the "good pain" -- he's coming back for more! He wants to see what else you got for him.

It's time to sell "a second helping". This could simply be another report -- or it could be a comprehensive bodybuilding e-book, videos that show exactly how to hit each muscle for maximum impact, or (if you can swing it) even an interview with the Austrian Oak himself.

BUNDLING

When you've got a number of reports under your belt, you can start bundling them together into e-books.

But, rather than just pasting them all together "as is", try to make them new and different. Use your current reports as inspirations for chapters of your book -- and re-write them for a fresh outlook.

Now, you've got a whole new e-book -- a great back-end. Go sell it.

NEXT WEEK

And, next week, we'll look at some great ways to sell that back-end. Yes, there's more than one way to skin a cat -- or promote your back-end products.

Until then, have a fantastic after-Golden Week week,

Here's what I like about PCL newsletters - I always get something of value in them. So, I am careful not to EVER delete one without reading it (something that I cannot say for alot of the stuff my inbox gets inundated with). Besides, you never bore me, Kevin.
