The Newsletter - Issue 12
Last week,
I
mentioned that Rieko and I would be going to Osaka Castle Park to video
the Cherry Blossom Viewing events. Unfortunately, it turned into a
rainy weekend and the shoot had to be called off. Oh well, instead we
went to one of our favourite little restaurants -- one where you stand
at a counter and the old guys behind the counter are continually
deep-frying all kinds of goodies and offering them to you.
Moral of the story: You gotta be flexible. Same thing applies to
Product Creation and Marketing. Don't think there is only one way to do
things -- always look for the alternatives.
This week, let's look at how you can create products -- not from
scratch, but by revamping.
TURNING
OLD INTO NEW
Remember
this: There is little new under the sun. Except for very new
technologies, most things have been written about -- many times. New
information is a rare bird.
New books are continually hitting the bookshelves, but the information
inside -- is it really new?
Not a chance! But the way it is being presented is.
GIVE
IT A TWIST
There is
no
such thing as a 100% unique information product. You only need one
unique twist to your product, to turn it into a hot-selling product.
Simply by presenting the information in a different way, you make it
unique.
It may be the way you organize it. The style of writing you use. Or,
you can make it unique by adding your own experiences.
YOUR
EXPERIENCES
For
example:
If you're writing a book about golfing in Scotland. You can simply
re-write some great information that is readily available in other
Scotland golfing guides, books, brochures -- in your own style. Then,
add your own experiences -- like the time you played 9 holes at St.
Andrews.
When writing about your own experience, be sure to appeal to the senses
-- the salty breeze, the slight wiff of fresh-trimmed grass, the warmth
of the sun on your face contrasting to the cold coming in off the
ocean, the soft spring of the turf underfoot. Give the reader the
feeling of being there.
YOUR
BOOK
By
revamping old information, you can give it new life and create your own
unique information product.
Now! Start researching and writing.
ME
NOT ENGLISH SO GOOD
For those
of you who bought my "Recipe For Delivering Your Own Popular
Newsletter" (http://recipefornewsletter.com)
during the first hours of launch, I have an embarassing confession. On
page 14, under the heading "Frequency Of Delivery", "Twice a week"
should read "Once every two weeks". I'll now go study English again.
This glaring error has since been remedied. Thanks goes out to
eagle-eyed Bev Clement, who spotted that one.
NEXT
WEEK
Join me
for a
look at the different types of articles to write for promotional
purposes. We'll look at what will be best to establish your expertise,
and persuade readers to visit your website or sales page.
Until then, have a great week of writing,

Get On Track To Success
Get
your own copy of Product Creation Labs Newsletter delivered directly to
your inbox every Friday.
I subscribe to a lot of IM
newsletters, from the big name gurus, to the little gurus, to the wanna
be gurus…and there are few that I actually read.
I
do actually open and read Kevin Riley's Product Creation Labs
newsletter, because he provides honest reviews of products, provides
great marketing tips, and recommends quality products. There
is a lot of noise out there in the IM world, and Kevin provides me and
my internet business with something different - honesty and clear
direction for building an online business.
Thanks
Kevin for the courage to be different by simply providing what most of
us are looking for online - integrity.

While I am
subscribed to dozens of newsletters, the Product Creations Labs
Newsletter is one of only three that I make sure I read every word of.
I always learn something that helps me make money.
If I have a complaint, it's only that I wish the PCL newsletter came
out more frequently.

Here's
what I like
about PCL newsletters - I always get something of value in them. So, I
am careful not to EVER delete one without reading it (something that I
cannot say for alot of the stuff my inbox gets inundated with).
Besides, you never bore me, Kevin.
